Our guarantee, in plain language
Most warranty pages are written to be technically accurate and practically useless. Here’s ours in language you can actually check us against.
The limited workmanship warranty is set out in our Terms & Conditions at /terms.
Panther Plumbing & Heating provides a one (1) year limited workmanship warranty beginning on the date the original installation or repair is completed, unless otherwise stated in writing.
If a workmanship issue covered under this warranty is confirmed, Panther Plumbing & Heating's responsibility is limited to inspecting the reported issue and, at its sole discretion, repairing the workmanship defect.
Manufacturer warranty on the tank — registered in your name, by us, on the day we install it. Most companies leave that to you, and most people never do it.
Two different things, both real. The first is our own promise about our own hands. The second is the manufacturer’s promise, made usable — a warranty nobody registered is a warranty nobody can claim on.
Limited workmanship warranty — 1 year
This warranty applies only to defects resulting directly from Panther Plumbing & Heating's workmanship. It does not guarantee the overall condition, lifespan, or future performance of existing plumbing, heating, gas, drainage, or water systems that were not installed or replaced by Panther Plumbing & Heating.

This workmanship warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original customer listed on the invoice.
Parts and equipment — registered in your name
These are the manufacturer’s terms, not ours. The exact figure is on the unit we install and on your work record.
Who files the registration
The card stays in the box.
Registration is left with the homeowner — a card in the carton or a form on the manufacturer’s site, plus the receipt you’ll need to find again in four years.
Most people never do it. Then the tank fails in year five and the claim starts with proving, from memory, when it was installed and by whom.
We file it the day we install.
We submit the registration in your name, with the install date, the model and serial, and our licence number on it. A copy goes into your work record.
If that tank fails in year five, the paperwork already exists and it already has your name on it.
If a part fails inside its manufacturer warranty, we handle the claim. You don’t chase the manufacturer; we do.
Manufacturer warranties apply to supplied fixtures, equipment, appliances, and components where applicable. Labour associated with diagnosing, removing, reinstalling, or replacing manufacturer-defective products is not included unless specifically stated in writing.
What isn’t covered
Being straight about this is the point of the page. Two exclusions matter enough to explain properly rather than bury in a list.
We can’t warranty a drain whose condition we don’t control. We clear the blockage you called about, and we’ll show you what came out — but the pipe it came out of is what it was before we arrived: old clay, root-jointed, bellied, narrowed by decades of scale.
Clearing a line doesn’t change the line. A drain that blocks again has a structural cause, and a warranty return would just clear it again next month. What answers it is a camera down the line to find out what’s actually there. That’s a diagnosis, not a warranty claim — and it’s the thing that ends the problem.

- Panther Plumbing & Heating is not notified before the warranty expires.
- Another contractor, homeowner, tenant, landscaper, or third party modifies or repairs the affected area before inspection.
- The problem results from aging infrastructure, corrosion, freezing, tree roots, shifting soil, excessive water pressure, water hammer, improper maintenance, misuse, external damage, municipal utility issues, irrigation systems, landscaping, excavation, or other conditions unrelated to Panther Plumbing & Heating's workmanship.
- The claim relates to drain blockages, sewage backups, flooding, water damage, or other consequential damages.
- Continued use of a known defective system contributes to additional damage.
- The warranty period has expired.
Panther Plumbing & Heating will not reimburse customers for repairs completed by another contractor unless prior written authorization has been provided.
The price guarantee
You get it in writing before work starts and it doesn’t change while we’re in your home.
If we open a wall and find something genuinely unforeseeable — and in Vancouver’s older housing that does happen — we stop, show you, explain the options and give you a revised written price. You decide. We don’t carry on and hand you a bigger bill at the end.
How to request warranty service
Notify us in writing Notify Panther Plumbing & Heating in writing within the warranty period.
Allow an inspection Allow Panther Plumbing & Heating a reasonable opportunity to inspect the issue before any repairs, excavation, replacement, or alterations are completed by another party.
Coverage and remedy If a workmanship issue covered under this warranty is confirmed, Panther Plumbing & Heating's responsibility is limited to inspecting the reported issue and, at its sole discretion, repairing the workmanship defect. This warranty does not provide for refunds, reimbursement of repair costs, replacement performed by another contractor, or compensation for third-party expenses.
Licences and insurance
A guarantee is only worth the company behind it. These are checkable, and the certificates are available before we start work — ask.

Permits pulled as standard on the work that needs them — which matters here, because unpermitted work is the one thing that can put a guarantee and an insurance claim in the same sentence.

No. We keep your service history, including the model and serial of anything we installed.

Because the drain’s condition isn’t ours. If a cleared line blocks again, the cause is structural — and the answer is a camera inspection rather than clearing it a second time.
No. It’s a guarantee on our own work. Insurance is a separate product from a regulated provider — we carry it too, and that’s the $5,000,000 line above.
